Projects

NSF CyCon Project

Working on advancing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the construction industry, backed by the National Science Foundation (Award #2229604), with a total funding of $999,998 for the year 2022

LLM for Nuclear Engineering Research

Received funding from the Center for Advanced Energy Studies to develop a vision language model called VLM-Nuclear, a specialized model for answering multimodal questions in nuclear engineering research. This model will assist in validating system design requirements, safety analysis reports, and generating and summarize safety and risk assessment reports

LabConnect

A full-stack application for Laboratory system that automates the process of ordering and recieving laboratory results

Text-to-speech

Developed an Amharic Text-to-Speech (TTS) system using the Tacotron 2 architecture with an encoder-decoder network and attention mechanism using PyTorch.

Rate-Eat

RateEat.app, a restaurant review platform that connects diners with the best local restaurants. I leveraged my expertise in full-stack development and cloud architecture to design and implement a scalable, secure, and user-friendly platform that has garnered positive reviews from users and industry experts alike. Through my work on RateEat.app, I gained valuable experience in Agile development methodologies, RESTful APIs, serverless architecture, and data modeling, which have prepared me for a successful career in the technology industry.

Africa To Silicon-Valley

A2SV upskills high-potential university students, connects them with opportunities at top tech companies around the world, and creates digital solutions to urgent problems in their home countries. The program is free for students, making the opportunity available for youth who have talent but lack the means to use it.
